Homemade Sweetheart Cake 自製老婆餅
Yeaaaaaaaah!!! Finally I made it!!!!! I been planing to make this and finally I made it! And it is super delicious!!!!!!! (sorry for my excitement 😉 )
I love this sweetheart cake so much, yes, you can buy in Chinatown bakery, but they don’t taste so good. So I tried to make it myself and it turn out really good. I use lard, yes, it is very fatty but hey, if you want it to be good, it has to use lard. (if you want, you can use butter) The pastry are so fluffy, with the winter melon sweet filling. They are just perfect!
How to Make Perfect Pastry 自製百搭撻皮
I love making my own pastry for tarts, pie and quiche. I know, it is easy and convenient to use the store-bought pastry and pastry shells, but seriously, the homemade one is so much better. Once you make your own, you will never like to use the store-bought one.
This pastry recipe can be the sweet one for, e.g. chocolate tart, lemon tarts, etc; or make the salty one for quiche. Very easy to make, little bit more time and effort, at the end it will all worth it.

Coconut Macaroons 椰絲蛋白脆餅
Christmas is coming! YEAAAAAH! It’s time to bake some christmasy …this coconut macaroons, is not typical christmas cookies, but it is white, so it counts! 😉
What you need is only egg whites, sugar and shredded coconut. THREE ingredients only, and super easy to make! Full of coconut flavour, crispy on the outside, soft in the inside. You can make it for christmas party or pack it as a gift. I am sure your family and friends will love it!
Sesame Crisps 芝麻脆片
We love to use sesame oil when come to cooking, it is flavourful and make the dish into next level. We also love to use sesame seeds to make candy, crunchy and delicious. There are difference between the taste of white and black sesame seeds, for this recipe, you can use any of your desire.
These sesame crisps are more like very thin cookies, the thinner you make the crispier. It is very simple, quick and easy recipe. Perfect snack and hope you like it!
Chinese Almond Cookies 中式杏仁酥
Classic Chinese cookies – Almond cookies, I remember when I was kid, every time we went to those old style pastry shops, I always love to buy these little cookies, with almond and walnut flavour. They are so delicious and melt in your mouth.
It is actually really easy to make, perfect for afternoon tea snack or little gift to your friends.
Chocolate Meringue Cookies 朱古力蛋白霜脆餅
Every time when I make custard or anything that need a lot of egg yolks, I will have to find a way to use up all the leftover egg whites. I usually will make meringue cookies, cause it is so easy , only need two ingredients and can use a lot egg whites.
You just need to beat the egg whites with sugar till stiff peak, pop in oven and bake for over an hour. Then you will have crispy on the outside, marshmallowy in the inside. So yummy! Try to create different favours and be creative!
Ginger Cookies (Gingernuts) 薑餅曲奇
Who love ginger cookies? British like to call it gingernuts but there are no nuts in it. I love it when I was a kid, they are buttery cookies with hints of ginger favour. Not too spicy but super delicious.
They are so easy to make and this time, I am very happy how they turn out. They are all even size and shape, the crack on top are just beautiful. Very easy to make, if you like ginger biscuits, you have to try it!
Peanut Butter Cookies 花生醬曲奇
What else you like to use with peanut butter besides spreading on bread? I love to add it in my milkshake, or just eat it as it is 😛 Of course, it is easy to use it to make cookies too. Before I shared the recipe of 3-ingredient peanut butter cookies, they are simple and delicious.
