Soy Sauce Sweet Spare Ribs 甜豉油排骨
We love to cook spare ribs for Chinese dishes, steam, braising, deep-fry…Spare ribs with some fat, always have good texture and moist after cooked. My mon always cook this spare ribs when we were kids, it is sweet and delicious.
Spare ribs after cook for 45 minutes, full of soy sauce and sweer flavour. The meat is still mosit and not tough at all. The sauce is so delicious that make you wanna eat more rice.
I used frozen spare ribs, yes fresh is better….but for this cooking method, the frozen spare ribs have more moisture and even after cook for an hour, you do not need to add more water. If you keep cooking the meat and keep adding a lot water, the meat will turn out chewy, dry and tough, Very easy to make, simple dish for dinner. With a bit of sweetness, it gives you a great appetite.
Add oil in hot pot, brown the spare ribs for 5 minutes, give it lightly brown color. Then add all the seasoning, bring it to boil, then turn to low heat and cook for 45 minutes, Check from time to time, add some water if is tol dry. Add maltose and mix well, cook for 3 more minutes and it is done!
- 300 gram spare ribs
- 1 tablespoon maltose
- 4 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 3 teaspoons sugar
- 200ml water
- 雪藏排骨 -300克
- 麥芽糖 -1湯匙
- 老抽 -4湯匙
- 糖 -3茶匙
- 水 -200毫升
- Add oil in hot pot, brown the spare ribs for 5 minutes, give it lightly brown color.
- Add all the seasoning and mix well. Bring it to boil, then turn to low heat and cook for 45 minutes. Check from time to time, add some water if is too dry.
- Add maltose and mix well, cook for 3 more minutes and it is done!
