The most popular Chinese takeaway dish, I am sure is Cantonese Sweet and Sour Pork. The are sweet and sour (ok!) and is so perfect with a bowl of rice. This time I use tofu instead, make the whole dish lighter and healthier, yet same delicious!

Steamed Minced Pork with Preserved Vegetables 梅菜蒸肉餅

This is one of my family favourite homey dishes – traditional steamed minced pork with preserved vegetables. Preserved vegetables = Mei Cai 梅菜, pickled of Chinese mustards and cabbage. They are salty but not overpowering. 

Very simple minced meat with some preserved vegetables can make a world difference. Simply steam the meat and you will have a delicious Chinese homey dish and it is great to serve with plain rice.
