In Asian bakery, they always sell a small chewy mochi bread/ balls….they are so chewy inside and have different flavours like cheese, matcha, coffee etc.

However, this time we are making the Brazilian cheese bread, I had it when I went to Brazilian grilled restaurant. They bread/ ball is very cheesy, super gooey inside and they are so delicious. The ingredients are slightly different from the Asian mochi balls. Super easy to make and cheese lovers cannot miss out!

In a large bowl, mix the tapioca flour and salt together.

Put milk, water and vegetable in a saucepan, mix well and bring it to boil.

Add the liquid to the tapioca flour, mix well. Then add in egg and mix well.

Add in shredded cheese, mix well. The dough is very sticky but not watery. (if the dough is way to wet, add some tapioca flour, but not too much or the bread won’t be gooey inside)

Wet both hands, and take out little bit of the dough, roll into ball and put on lined baking tray.

Pop in preheated oven at 200C, bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden, enjoy!

*This recipe can make around 20 bread balls
